How Much Is Smoking Costing You?

The economy is getting so bad that people are looking for ways to cut corners and save money. Do you know how much you are actually spending on cigarettes for just one year?

To prove a point let’s say that you spend $5.00 a day on a pack of cigarettes. That is assuming that you only smoke one pack a day. 365 X $5.00=$1825.00 Now that’s just for cigarettes. Now how many times a week do you run out just to buy a pack of cigarettes? Let’s say 3 days a week at 2.50 a gallon for gas. 365÷3=121.7 X 2.50= $304.00+$1825.00= $2129.00 Now that is just to buy the cigarettes and the gas to go to purchase them.

If you smoke, do you realize that if you have life insurance you are paying twice the amount for a policy than a non-smoker. If you have a $30,000 life insurance policy and you smoke you will pay an average of $75.00. If you were a nonsmoker that same policy would only cost you around $42.00 a month which would save you an additional $33.00 a month or another $396.00 a year. So smoking one pack of cigarettes a day each year costs approximately $2525.

As a smoker, your health insurance will cost you 30% more than a nonsmoker which will run you about $600 a year. It is costing you $2705 a year to smoke.
