Does Smoking Cause Asthma? |
Many people believe that Asthma is caused by smoking when it is not so. However, smoking can trigger Asthma attacks. While there is not a link to Asthma and smoking other then the attacks there is a link to chornic bronchitis and smoking. Smoking is actually considered to be one of the most harmful irritants and can make the asthmatic condition worse then what it would usually be. Young children and babies that have not developed their lung capacity yet might be more vulnerable with getting these attacks. There are a lot of patches, medications and programs to help patients stop smoking. When a patient has Asthma and wants to stop smoking they should contact their doctor to make sure that the steps they take are the right ones. Some medicaitons and patches might not mix with medications that the doctor has given the patient for Asthma treatment. |
