There are side effects that come with taking Nicorette. While Nicorette might help many patients they should still be aware of the side effects and contact the doctor right away when they happen.

- dreams become abnormal
- problems with sleeping
- diarrhea
- joint pain
- dry mouth
- muscle pain
- redness
- nervousness
- burning
- weakness
- headache
- dizzy
- confused
- mouth sores
- saliva productions increase
- indigestion problems
- lightheadedness
- hiccups
- vomiting
- nausea
- pounding of the heart
- fainting
- trouble breathing

In rare occasions the patient might experience side effects that are not listed. The most common side effects with Nicorette include; mouth sores, jaw aches and headaches. These side effects usually only last a few days and then they disappear. If after a few days there hasn't been any changes that is when the doctor should be notified. Sometimes the doctor might need to reduce the amount of Nicorette being used or either the patient might have to stop taking it.
