Nicotine gum, nicotine inhaler, and quit smoking pills are some of the options that are prescribed by doctors for those who want to quit smoking.  One medication to quit smoking is pills and in these pills no nicotine are added. Generally those who want to quit smoking should start preparations two weeks before they quit smoking. Sudden withdrawal of nicotine causes some serious withdrawals in the human body and to avoid these problems many of these methods can help. Most of the time the side effects of these medications won’t cause serious issues, but in rare casues they can cause serious problems.

One of the study reports shows that one third of people those who took medication for quit smoking felt the symptoms of nausea. Apart from this problem; headache, insomnia, constipation, dizziness and abnormal dreams are common adverse effects.  Sometimes taking excessive amounts of medication pills will create problems like suicidal thoughts, erratic behavior, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder and aggressive behavior. Some medicines cause dry mouth and seizures. So, it’s a must for a person to consult a doctor before starting medication for quit smoking to avoid side effects.
