Almost 22 million children in the United States are exposed to second hard smoke and this could be avoided. According to the surgeon general restricted smoking in your home and vehicles not only reduces the risk of inhaling second hand smoke but also aids in a smoker to quit and children to remain nonsmokers. It has been proven that there is no risk-free level of exposure to secondhand smoke. Breathing even a little secondhand smoke can be harmful. So the only way to protect you and your family from second hand smoke is not to smoke. To protect you and your family ask people who smoke not to smoke around you and your children, make your home and vehicle smoke free, choose and eat in nonsmoking restaurants or designated nonsmoking areas, and if you are a smoker, smoke outside only.
