Are Prescription Medications Safe?

The prescription medicines for quitting smoking are very effective and quite popular among smokers who want to quit smoking. According to them it is a blessing in disguise. However despite of such positive feedbacks, these medications do have certain mild side effects which are often curable. For example Chantix, commonly known as Varenicline, is often prescribed as antismoking drug but has specific side effects. 30% of the people who have used it complained of severe nausea. Others have complained of abnormal dreams or nightmares, flatulence, insomnia that causes difficulty in sleeping, headaches and constipation. The second most commonly used drug is Zyban which consist of a medicine called Bupropion. The side effects which are caused due to the usage of this particular drug are dry mouth, seizures or fits, anxiety, irritability, anxiety and insomnia or lack of sleep. The third one is Nicotine Replacement Therapy or NRT which comprises of a group of medicines containing nicotine in them. Examples of this particular genre of medicines are Nicorette gum, Commit lozenges, Nicotrol inhaler or nose spray, Habitrol patches and Nicoderm CQ patches. The negative effects of these particular drugs are nose irritation, skin rashes, pain in the jaw, abnormal dreams and sleeping disorders.
