There are about as many methods to quit smoking as there are smokers. The important thing to remember is that you have to find a method that will work for only you.
No two people are the same and no two methods are going to work for everyone. So I have listed a method of persistence that you might want to consider. The main thing to remember is that you have to have your mind make up to quit. If you don’t have the right mindset, you will fail.
- Pick a nonsmoking idol – this could be a family member, a friend, or even a television celebrity. Take a long look at how happy or stressful their life seems to be without smoking. Learn to deal with the ups and downs of life without a cigarette.
- Nothing ventured nothing gained-you never know what you can do until you try. Why is it so hard to give up smoking when you don’t want to smoke? You may fail many times before you quit. Don’t give up and learn from your mistakes. The next time you quit don’t fall back into the same trap again. You must learn that you make your own choices and that you no longer have to be a slave to that cigarette. Make up your mind to quit and don’t let anything stand in your way. Not even “failure.”
