Smoking is dangerous for both men and women. Smoking may have more harmful effects on the health of women than men, especially if those women are in their childbearing years.
The reason is believed that because women bear children and bearing children is giving life. If women smoke that may be endangering their babies. It causes low birth weight-and that we know for sure.
Women who smoke are more susceptible to vaginal bleeding, heart attacks, stroke and other cardiovascular diseases. Women are also more prone to having lung cancer if they smoke. It is also harder for women to kick the smoking habit because it is harder to rid their systems of the nicotine.
If you are a woman and a smoker, you should make yourself aware of the harm that you are doing to your body. If you have a better understanding of what the nicotine is doing to you; you may be more apt to give it up.
Regardless of whether you are a man or a woman; the task to quit smoking is very hard. If you do not think that you could quit smoking on your own talk to your doctor about the medicines that he can prescribe to help you quit.
Just remember that if you are a woman in her child bearing years and smoke, it is risking having an unhealthy baby if you are not healthy yourself. If you smoke, chances are you are not healthy either. |
